HIT 3 box office collection day 1: HIT 3 is Nani's latest film, which has been making headlines for a while. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, who last made Saindhav with Sankranthiki Vasthunnam star Venkatesh, this action drama hit the screens on May 1, 2025, with strong word of mouth and impressive occupancy.

HIT 3 opens to record collections

In the days leading up to its release, trade circles had been predicting big numbers for its opening day. As previously reported by OTTplay, HIT 3 was expected to gross between Rs 25 to 30 crore on day one. However, the film has exceeded expectations, raking in Rs 40 crore gross on its opening day, marking the highest-ever opening in Nani’s career. This milestone firmly places him in the top league of Telugu star heroes, alongside NTR, Mahesh Babu, and Ram Charan, who regularly post such massive openings.

Going into details, HIT 3 made Rs 18 crore net, further cementing Nani’s box office success. In the U.S., the film had a staggering premiere, collecting 1.1 million dollars, which is another personal best for the Jersey actor.

Interestingly, HIT 3 was released alongside Suriya's much-hyped film Retro, which opened on the same day. Unfortunately for Retro, the audience response was underwhelming, giving HIT 3 an edge at the box office. Not many know that Nani is also the producer of HIT.

With no major Telugu film competition and a long weekend ahead, HIT 3 is expected to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore gross mark in its opening weekend itself. Trade analysts are even predicting that HIT 3 could become Nani’s first-ever Rs 200 crore grosser. However, that target might be challenging, as the film is rated 'A' due to its intense violence and bloodshed, potentially limiting its family audience.

HIT 3 OTT platform details

The film saw houseful shows across evening and night screenings in Telugu states, signalling strong continued momentum. However, its performance in other South Indian languages has been relatively modest. Netflix has bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price and will stream HIT 3 in the last week of May 2025. 

Dil Raju, who distributed the film in parts of Telangana, stated that the numbers have even shocked trade pundits, and that the craze surrounding Nani, also known for Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Dasara, is truly remarkable.

Srinidhi Shetty plays the female lead, while the film also marks the Telugu debut of the Mulk actor, Prateik Babbar. It remains to be seen how far HIT 3 will go in the days ahead. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
