With the releases of Retro and Tourist Family along with other language films like HIT 3, Thudarum and Raid 2 running in theatres, this week releases will be low. Good Bad Ugly – Netflix (May 8)

Good Bad Ugly is a 2025 Tamil film starring actor Ajith Kumar in the lead role. The action drama is directed by Adhik Ravichandran and revolves around a former gangster who goes back to his old ways after his son gets entangled in a murder case. The film is filled with references and throwbacks to Ajith’s previous films like Vaalee, Billa 2, Dheena, Mankatha, and Red. Besides Ajith Kumar, the film also features Trisha Krishnan, Usha Uthup, Rahul Dev, Kingsley, Roadies Raghu, Pradeep Kabra, Harry Josh, KGF Avinash, Yogi Babu, Prasanna, Prabhu, Priya Prakash, Simran, Tinnu Anand, Sayaji Shinde, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, Arjun Das and others.

Kaliyugam – Theatres (May 9)

Kaliyugam is Telugu-Tamil film set in the futuristic world, precisely in AD 2065 where water, food and humanity have vanished. The dystopian drama will show the harsh living conditions of how human lives are enduring to live. A group of individuals are looking to search something as if their lives are dependent on it. Written and directed by Pramodh Sundar, the film stars Shraddha Srinath, Kishore, Iniyan Subramani, Harry, Asmal and others.

The Royals – Netflix (May 9)

The Royals is an upcoming Hindi series which will also be available in Tamil. Headlined by Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter, the series revolves around a modern-day CEO who comes across a royal heir and how love blossoms between the two. Zeenat Aman. Apart from them, Milind Soman, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny are also part of the cast.

Heart Beat S2 – JioHotstar (TBD)

The second season of Tamil medical drama series Heart Beat will release soon. It revolves around the professional and personal lives of those who work in a multi-speciality hospital, including doctors, interns and attendants. While the first season showed how Rina, an intern at the hospital, soon became acquainted with the other employees, the second season is about she becoming a medical professional at the same hospital.
