A big project is about to be released as Scam 1992, Stree 2, and Panchayat actors are set to collaborate on Inside Edge writer Sumit Purohit's directorial debut, Baaghi Bechare. The film will star Scam 1992 star Pratik Gandhi, Stree 2 actor Abhishek Banerjee, and Panchayat star Faisal Malik, among others.

All about Baaghi Bechare

The writer of Inside Edge, Sumit Purohit, is all set to bring a talented cast for his directorial debut, Baaghi Bechare. The film will star Abhishek Banerjee, Pratik Gandhi, and Faisal Malik, among others. Meanwhile, Mirzapur creator Puneet Krishna is the co-writer of the film. 

Talking about the project, Sumit told Variety, "Satire, for me, is a form of catharsis. It helps us confront truths that are too absurd to believe and too real to ignore. Collaborating with so many creative and talented people on this journey gives me hope that we can continue telling stories that are honest and unafraid to reflect the times we live in."

Pratik Gandhi on Baaghi Bechare

Pratik Gandhi, who was recently seen in Phule, shared his excitement and told the portal that it is refreshing to be part of a film rooted in genuine artistic collaboration and craft. As per him, there’s a rare freedom in working without the usual market pressures. "As an actor, being in such an ecosystem is truly inspiring. You feel a responsibility to support it and be a part of its journey," he said. 

Abhishek Banerjee feels 'drawn' for the project

On the other hand, Abhishek Banerjee said that it is encouraging to see so many inventive independent films making their way into popular culture. He also said that we are in a golden age of this kind of storytelling, and as an actor, he feels passionate about being a part of stories that challenge and stretch the audience's expectations.

Meanwhile, creative producer Devansh Patel added that supporting stories that don't fit the template is the most satisfying feeling as a producer, and it's no wonder that like-minded people have come together to tell this compelling story.
