Ramayana is one of the most talked-about projects of Nitesh Tiwari. Starring an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the lead roles, the film will be released in two parts in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Ahead of the release, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis praised the quality of the production of the film, Ramayana.

Maharashtra CM on Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana

During the Waves Summit 2025, Maharashtra CM had a chat with writer-producer Namit Malhotra and praised the production of the film, Ramayana.

He said we are the world’s oldest storytellers and our art, drama, and music are very old, and we only wanted to couple it with the latest technology. "I think that’s what you are doing. So, yesterday, when I visited your pavilion with the Prime Minister, I was amazed to see the quality of Ramayana that you are creating. I think this is the way we need to tell our stories to the new generation, and I believe what you are setting up will be the best in the globe," he said.

Yash and Kunal Kapoor's face off in Ramayana

ETimes reported that Yash and Kunal Kapoor, who will play Raavana and Lord Indra, respectively, will have a grand action sequence with each other. The portal also mentioned that the action sequence will be a spectacular spectacle with huge sets, sophisticated visual effects, and intricate stunt work. 

In Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi will play Sita. KGF star Yash is set to portray Raavana role, and Kunal Kapoor will play Lord Indra. On the other hand, Sunny Deol and Lara Dutta will reportedly portray the roles of Lord Hanuman and Kaikeyi, respectively.

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled to hit theaters on Diwali 2026. The second part will be released on Diwali 2027.
