Retro, the most-awaited film of this week from the Tamil cinema, is hitting theatres today, May 1. The film is a romantic action drama starring actor Suriya in the lead role. Directed by filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Netflix, which will stream the film after theatrical run.

Retro OTT release: Where to watch Suriya’s film on streaming platform

Actor Suriya who saw failure with the release of his last film Kanguva, is coming with Retro. It is releasing on May 1, Thursday. With the film having huge expectations, Retro’s OTT rights have been sold for a fancy price to Netflix. The streaming platform had announced earlier this year when it had unveiled its 2025 content slate for south.

However, an OTT release date for Retro is yet to be announced. In all likeliness, the film will stream only after a minimum period of four weeks or even more. Retro is touted to be a romantic action drama marking the first collaboration of the Pizza filmmaker with Suriya. It also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George and others in important roles. Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under 2D Entertainment, the film’s technical crew consists of music scored by Santhosh Narayanan, and Shreyaas Krishna as cinematographer.
