Can you imagine Mujhse Shaadi Karogi but without the chaotic duo of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar fighting to win over Priyanka Chopra? Neither can we, but it looks like the makers have been leaning towards the idea of the movie's sequel without the leading cast. Yes, we hear that Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is getting a sequel but neither Salman nor Akshay are part of it. Naturally, Priyanka is unlikely to be in the movie too, since the makers are eyeing a new cast. Here's what we know about the movie so far...
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 without Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar or Priyanka Chopra?
"Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 is currently in the scripting stage, and the final outcome of it being made depends on how the script shapes up," a source told Pinkvilla. The birdie shares that Sajid Nadiadwala is working on the script and will then proceed with the casting. However, if he is unhappy with the process, he would put the movie on the backburner. While stating so, the insider hinted that the filmmaker wishes to cast fresh faces for the sequel, which would be another 'comedy of errors.'
20 years of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi completed 20 years in 2024. The makers have been toying with the idea of the sequel since, and decided to pursue it now. The movie was based on a love triangle, where two boys named Samir and Sunny fought for Rani. The constant misunderstandings became the plot point for the humour in the movie. Of course, the soundtrack is still popular among Bollywood lovers. However, since a lot has changed since Mujhse Shaadi Karogi's release, the makers have a lot of things to keep in mind before proceeding with the sequel.
Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar competing at the Box Office

Interestingly, Radhe actor Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are currently competing at the Box Office. Their movies Sikandar and Kesari: Chapter 2 are running in theatres. However, the Box Office collections for both the movies have slowed down. Salman, interestingly, is also back since his cult classic Andaz Apna Apna co-starring Aamir Khan has re-released in theatres. Nonetheless, it is tough times for Bollywood at the Box Office and nobody has come close to breaking the records set by Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava this year. However, it is too early to judge, and we might just find a bigger blockbuster, mainly because 2025 could also be the year when Ghajini star Aamir Khan makes his grand Bollywood comeback with Taare Zameen Par sequel, Sitaare Zameen Par.
