Going into details, Spirit was supposed to go on floors in December 2024, but it did not happen as the Mr Perfect star, Prabhas, injured his knee. Sandeep Vanga approached Deepika to play the part, but she rejected the film as she had a newborn. Now that times have changed and the film got delayed, Sandeep approached Deepika again, and she okayed the film this time around.

The news in film circles is that Sandeep Vanga has penned a solid role for the Cocktail and Tamasha actress. The news is also that the shooting of the film will kick off in October 2025. Touted to be a cop drama, Spirit will have Prabhas playing the role of a cop for the first time in his career.

Deepika Padukone back to signing films

On the other hand, Deepika Padukone will also be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's King, which is being directed by Sidharth Anand. Spirit is being co-produced by Sandeep Vanga and T-Series on a massive scale. Most of the shoot will happen in Thailand, and the word is that the film has a drug mafia backdrop.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga takes time to make his films, and for this, he needs bulk dates from his stars. One of the sources close to the unit says that Prabhas has allocated seven months to the film, and when he joins the sets of Spirit, he will not work on any other projects.

Deepika Padukone and Prabhas shared screen space in Yevade Subramanyam fame Nag Ashwin's biggie Kalki 2898 AD. This is the second time the duo will share screen space, and we cannot wait to see what Sandeep Vanga is up to with Spirit. Stay tuned for more updates.
