Shah Rukh Khan is getting ready to make his next big screen appearance in Siddharth Anand's highly anticipated action film King following a record 2023 with the blockbusters Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. As per the latest reports in Pinkvilla, the film is now in the midst of pre-production and is set to go on floors in Mumbai on May 18.
Deepika Padukone's role confirmed
King features an impressive ensemble cast that includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan. With Deepika Padukone's official announcement of a major role, the star power has just grown.
A source informed the entertainment portal that the presence of Padukone on board King was always obvious to SRK. The actor needed time off to be with her newborn child and to get back in shape, so at first, the dates didn't work. She is back on board with the film because the schedules for King (which was earlier remade as Bichhoo) were postponed and the timelines matched.
In the event that Padukone's schedule prevented her from starring in the project, Shah Rukh reportedly considered Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif for the role.
