Even when his latest film Thudarum, with Mohanlal, is running to packed theatres in Kerala, Tharun Moorthy has announced his next. The Operation Java director has revealed that his next film will be titled Torpedo. What is more exciting is that Fahadh Faasil and Premalu star Naslen will lead this film.

Tharun Moorthy's Torpedo with Fahadh Faasil, Naslen

Tharun Moorthy is teaming up with Fahadh Faasil and Naslen for his next film Torpedo, the Thudarum director announced on social media on May 1. Torpedo has a strong cast led by Fahadh Faasil along with Naslen, Arjun Das and Ganapathi. The upcoming Malayalam film, backed by Ashiq Usman, will have music by Sushin Shyam. Jimshi Khalid is the DOP.

While making the announcement, Tharun Moorthy also shared the title poster with the lead cast and crew.

Notably, Torpedo brings together Fahadh Faasil and the young star Naslen under Tharun Moorthy’s direction. While Tharun Moorthy is currently basking in the success of Thudarum, Fahadh Faasil has impressed fans all over, and Naslen is the youngest star from Malayalam after the success of Premalu. Tharun Moorthy’s Thudarum

Tharun Moorthy’s latest film Thudarum, which released in theatres on Apr 25, 2025, stars Mohanlal along with Shobana. The makers have said that the film has already crossed Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office. The film has been winning rave reviews with several fans commenting that it brought back vintage Lalettan on screen. To celebrate the success, the team also unveiled a promo song, titled Kondattam, which has Mohanlal and Shobana matching steps.

Before Thudarum, Tharun Moorthy had directed Saudi Vellakka, which went on to win a National Award. Tharun Moorthy had made his feature film debut with Operation Java, which featured Balu Varghese and Lukman Avaran, along with Binu Pappu. Both films are available for streaming on OTTplay Premium.
