Raid 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh's much-awaited crime thriller, Raid 2, finally hit theaters on May 1. Although the film received mixed responses from fans and critics, it has been performing well at the box office. Raid 2 Box Office Update

As per Sacnilk, Raid 2 has already surpassed Rs. 15 crore on the first day and collected Rs. 1825 crore as of now. For the first day, this box office number is more than superb for a film. Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh's film is expected to cross the Rs. 50 crore mark in a few days.

Fans love Riteish Deshmukh's role more than Ajay Devgn in Raid 2

Although the film has been performing well at the box office, it received mixed responses from fans. They even called the film 'boring' on X and added that only Riteish's acting is brilliant in the film. 

One fan said, "Just watched Raid 2 and that CM chappal scene by @Riteishd is a masterclass in acting. Bollywood truly hasn’t tapped into the full range of your talent. You deserve far more powerful and nuanced roles. Outstanding performance!"

Another fan said, "Riteish is better than Ajay in the film but Amit Sial ate them all! Funny punches here & there but nothing new. Plot is fine but with a lukewarm climax. Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak's talent wasted. Vaani Kapoor is in the film for no reason. Still a good weekend watch."

Meanwhile, the OTTplay review for Raid 2 reads, "While Riteish Deshmukh steals the scene and the stash with villainous flair, Ajay Devgn’s Patnaik seems stuck in audit mode, lacking the firepower of his first raid." 

Is Raid 3 on the cards?

In an interview with India Today, T-Series head Bhushan Kumar opened up about the possibility of Raid 3. He said that when they were making Raid 2, he had already narrated the idea for Raid 3. He affirmed, "Raid 3 to aayegi, surely aayegi." (Raid will happen for sure).

Meanwhile, Raid 2 also casts Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and Yashpal Sharma in key roles. It is the story of an Income Tax officer investigating a corrupt politician who had possessed a huge wealth. 

On the other hand, as per reports, Raid 2 is all set to be released on Netflix after its theatrical run.
