Deepika Padukone made her acting debut in Bollywood with Om Shanti Om. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The 2007 film, directed by Farah Khan, is a blockbuster not only due to its interesting plot but also the music. Deepika and SRK are all set to be seen in the upcoming movie, King. Ahead of it, during WAVES 2025, Deepika recalled receiving warmth and love from Shah Rukh on the sets of Om Shanti Om.

Deepika Padukone on Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone attended the first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai on May 1, where they took part in the session titled The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler at WAVES. During the interaction, Deepika recalled her Om Shanti Om days and how she received love from Shah Rukh on the sets. 

She said, "He is the biggest superstar of our country. Call it destiny, hard work, whatever I think the point is that it just felt like home, comfortable, I could make mistakes, be vulnerable and I think that's why I was able to thrive and the movie went on to do what it did because it was made with a lot of love."

Shah Rukh Khan says Deepika Padukone will be a wonderful mother

On the other hand, Shah Rukh said that Deepika will be a ‘wonderful mother’ to her daughter Dua with Ranveer Singh. 

He said, “I just want to add one more thing, which is very personal, so please excuse me if I’m stepping beyond boundaries. But I think the role she’s going to play the best, Inshallah, is that of a mother now with Dua. I think she’s really going to be a wonderful mother.”

Meanwhile, some of the best SRK and Deepika films are Pathaan, Jawan, and Chennai Express, apart from Om Shanti Om.

As per a Pinkvilla report, Deepika Padukone joined Shah Rukh Khan's King. The film is all set to go on floors on May 18 in Mumbai. The portal also mentioned that SRK was always clear to have Padukone on board. 

The source further added, "Initially, the dates were not matching as Deepika was taking time off to be with the newborn kid, and also hitting the gym to get back in shape. Due to a delay in the schedules of King, the timelines aligned, and she is back on board the film."

Meanwhile, reportedly, King is aiming for the release in the last quarter of 2026, in the window of October 1 to December 31.
