Ahead of Robinhood's OTT release, here's how much the Nithiin starrer made in theaters

It has been quite some time since we have seen Nithiin score a big hit at the box office. So, he pinned all his hopes on his new film, Robinhood, which was directed by Venky Kudumula. The action comedy was in the making for over two years and was postponed twice already. Finally, the film hit the screens on March 28, 2025, in a big way, along with Mad Square, a comedy caper featuring RRR star Jr NTR's brother-in-law, Narne Nithin. While Mad 2 hit the bull's eye, Robinhood flopped badly at the box office.

Well, we at OTTplay have already revealed that Zee5 has bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price and will stream the film on May 10, 2025. The special aspect is that Robinhood will also have its TV premiere on the same day.
Well, let us look at how much Robinhood made in theaters ahead of its OTT release. As per the trade update, Robinhood has made only Rs 13 crore, whereas the film's budget is a whopping Rs 70 crore. Most of the budget was allocated to the stars, who came in for a hefty price. Aussie cricketer David Warner was also seen in a cameo, and he charged a whopping Rs 3 crore as his fee.
Venky Kudumula last made Bheeshma with Nithiin, which was a smash hit at the box office. Sreeleela of Skanda and Pelli SandaD fame played the female lead in this film, which had music by GV Prakash.
Nithiin had pinned a lot of hopes on this film, which started with decent word of mouth, but as Mad 2 stole the limelight, Robinhood went down in no time. Nithiin has two more films, Thammudu and Yellamma, in the days to come.
Robinhood also had some seasoned actors and great action. The second half of the film was sadly disappointing, to say the least. We need to see how the film fares in the days to come. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
