
Latest Kannada OTT releases (March 24 – March 30) to watch on Prime Video, JioHotstar, Netflix, Sony LIV, theatres and more

It is the Ugadi/Eid weekend, which means there will be a big Bollywood film in theatres this week. This time around, it is the turn of Salman Khan, who brings his AR Murugadoss directed Sikandar to theatres on March 30, 2025. Joining in is a Malayalam biggie which will have a Kannada dubbed version also out, as well as Yogaraj Bhat’s latest directorial. As far as OTT releases go, there’s no official update yet, but a couple of titles are expected to drop by the weekend, since it is is Ugadi on Sunday.
Here's a look at the Kannada original and dubbed films releasing in theatres and on OTT in the week of March 24 to March 30
L2 Empuraan
Actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second instalment in the Lucifer universe, Empuraan, is one of the big releases of the week. The Malayalam original, written by Murali Gopy and starring Mohanlal in the lead, is getting a world-wide simultaneous release with dubbed versions in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi as well.

Manada Kadalu
Director Yogaraj Bhat’s newest film stars newbies Sumukha, Rashika Shetty and Anjali Anish, in the lead. The film brings Mungaru Male producer E Krishnappa back to collaborate with Yogaraj, 18 years after their hit movie. This time around, they present a modern-day love story, the relatability of which, says the team, will be its USP.

Director PC Shekar’s next is a ‘unique’ tale, featuring six characters that represent six aspects of Arishadvarga (the six enemies of the mind). Nakul Gowda and Manvita Kamath play lead roles in the film.

Om Kali Jai Kali
The crime thriller series headlined by Vimal, is set in the 90s. It’s a tale of revenge, loyalty, and redemption that unfolds against the backdrop of the Dasara festivities in Tamil Nadu. Directed by Ramu Chellappa, Om Kali Jai Kali, also stars Pavani Reddy, Pugazh, GM Kumar, Dhivya Duraiswamy, among others. The Tamil original show will be available with Kannada audio as well.

UI
Real Star Upendra’s film UI is rumoured to be the big Ug adi OTT release, although there’s been no indication from the platform to that effect. Released in theatres on December 20, 2024, UI’s satellite rights were snapped up by Zee Network, which issued a promo stating the TV premiere would happen shortly. But then, Sudeep’s Max, which had a Christmas release, also got a similar promo and even made it to the platform, with a simultaneous TV and OTT outing.
Since then, there’s been no word on UI, with speculation rife that it will release on the platform for Ugadi.
