Citadel is one of the most famous American spy action television series. It stars Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden, Leo Woodall, Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, and others. The series has an Italian spinoff, titled Citadel: Diana, and an Indian spinoff, titled Citadel: Honey Bunny. Now it has been reported that Amazon Prime Video has cancelled the spinoffs as individual series. Instead, the storylines will be merged into the main plot of the Citadel series in Season 2.

Prime Video cancels Citadel spinoffs

Amazon Prime Video has decided to discontinue the international Citadel spinoffs Honey Bunny and Diana as standalone series. These will be included in the second season of the original Citadel series, and it is scheduled to premiere worldwide in the second quarter of 2026.

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said, “While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series, Season 2 of ‘Citadel’ will be our most exhilarating yet."

Indian spinoff, Citadel: Honey Bunny stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. It follows the lives of Honey (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) and Bunby (Varun Dhawan), who get involved in the world of espionage and betrayal. The story unfolds across two timelines: in 1992, when a struggling actress, Honey, is recruited by stuntman Bunny for a mission, and in 2000, when they are separated and have to reunite to protect their daughter, Nadia. 

Meanwhile, Citadel: Diana, the Italian spinoff, follows a double agent, Diana Cavalieri, who is stranded behind enemy lines within the Manticore syndicate. She seeks revenge for the mysterious deaths of her parents, which she believes were arranged by Manticore. It stars Matilda De Angelis as Diana, Lorenzo Cervasio as Edo, and Maurizio Lombardi as Ettore Zani.
